Information

It is a locality in the northwest of the province of Corrientes. It is usually informally called 'El Paso', and it is common to see tourist advertisements and posters that refer to it by this name. It is on the south bank of the Paraná River, right in front of the Chaco village of Isla del Cerrito, which is where the Paraguay River flows into the Paraná. It is 35 km from the city of Corrientes and 56 km from Resistencia.

It has long beaches, with abundant sand and clear water. For this reason, it has become one of the main tourist sites in the province. It has services such as a tourist information office, ATMs, petrol station and a variety of lodgings. Near the shore there are many places to eat and drink, especially restaurants specialising in river fish dishes. In the hot months of January and February it is crowded with visitors, many coming from the nearby big cities (Corrientes and Resistencia).

You can walk along the waterfront, enjoy balconies or viewpoints of the river, and in one sector there is an amphitheatre. Boat trips are offered from different places and there is even a catamaran (ask when they are operating). There are also events such as festivals that attract crowds of people.

To get there, from National Route 12, take Provincial Road 9 northbound, which is 8 kilometres to Paso de la Patria. To get there by public transport, there are daily buses from the city of Corrientes.
