Punta Mogotes

Information

It is an area and seaside complex in Mar del Plata, located south of the port and just where the Puerto de Mar del Plata Nature Reserve ends. It is about 8 km from the city centre.

It is an extensive place, with a length of about 2 km. It is characterised by a long beach and lagoons, separated from each other by a built-up area with toilets, large car parks and a paved road. Where the lagoons are, there are green spaces with bridges, benches and children's playgrounds.

As it happens all over Mar del Plata, Punta Mogotes shows a great difference depending on the time of the year. It contrasts the tranquillity that is seen in the low season, as opposed to the great amount of people that come during the hot months of January and February.

Punta Mogotes can be reached from the centre of Mar del Plata by bus line 581, which follows the coast, and also by others that make different routes, such as lines 511, 522 and 523.
